Immigration
The immigration laws of the United States can have a huge impact upon families, individuals, investors and business owners. In the aftermath of the attacks of September 11th, the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) became the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), and was taken over by the Department of Homeland Security, adding another layer to an already complex regulatory and procedural scheme.

Dealing with immigration matters, without assistance, can be very confusing. The law and regulations are constantly changing, and mistakes can be extremely difficult -- and time consuming -- to correct. It is never too late to seek legal advice, but you speak to an immigration attorney as soon as possible in any case.

As a sole practitioner, Cliff Levenson can provide the individualized attention that immigration matters require. He can help you, your business, or your family in the areas of:

  • Business and Employment Based Immigration
  • Family-Based Immigration
  • Removal (Deportation) Proceedings
  • Naturalization

Family-Based Immigration
If you are setting to bring family members into the United States, there are often misconceptions about who is eligible to obtain a U.S. visa and lawful, permanent residence in America. The office of Clifford Levenson help you obtain the following types of visas:

  • Fiancee visa
  • Spouse visa
  • Parent visa
  • Sibling visa
  • Child or children's visa

In addition, Clifford Levenson can help obtain visas for Americans who want to marry a foreign national.

Removal (Deportation)
Clifford Levenson has helped many families faced with the deportation of a loved one. In some cases the removal of an alien, no matter what his or her immigration status, can be challenged in Immigration Court. Call Clifford Levenson immediately for a free consultation if you or a loved one is facing removal proceedings.

Business and Employment Based Immigration
U.S. visas related to business include, B-1, L-1A, L-1B, and E-2 visas. While the B-1 visa can be obtained most easily, all visas require planning, and some have additional requirements.Cliff Levenson

The E-2 or foreign investor visa is available to an investor from any foreign country with which the U.S. has investor treaties. Foreign citizens who have a substantial investment or who are in the process of investing a substantial amount of money in a U.S. business concern are eligible to apply. Investors may also apply to bring a spouse and minor children. These visas are required to be renewed every 5 years but may last indefinitely. Through a different type of investor visa, an investor can become eligible to self- petition for a green card.

The L-1 category is essentially a work permit and pertains to the executives and managers (L-1A), and specialized workers (L-1B) of multi-national companies. These are temporary, nonimmigrant visas for intra-company transfers. An L-1A visa can serve as a stepping stone to a green card.
